I had an early departure, so I had said goodbye the night before. I headed out and took an Uber over to the airport. I figured it wasn't really that feasible to prevent people from being dropped off at the airport with Uber, and the drivers probably knew what they were doing. Plus, how do you really know the difference between an Uber driver or just friends and family outside of the devices they put on the cars – which I imagine they don't put up if they truly are facing a problem with that. Anyway, I tipped the guy really well since I had some leftover pesos and the price was probably a fourth of what I paid to get to the flat days prior.

At the airport, I checked in through security and found it was a bit confusing to find where my flight was leaving from, and plus, the gate had been changed so it took some time to get things sorted out, but after a while, I was finally on my plane and up in the air.

It was business class again, so I had my nice wide seat. I got a free meal that included eggs, sausage, potatoes, a roll, fruit and yogurt (every airline seems to have the same breakfast). United was interesting. They do include a napkin and tablecloth and silverware, but a few the items are in plastic containers which doesn't seem like business class level. Regardless, I mainly care about the taste of the food, not what it comes in.

About four hours later, we were back in San Francisco. And then had to find a shuttle to take over to Lot D. Once I got there, I was comfortably in my car again and I made the long drive back to Pleasanton.
