This would be my second trip to Mexico. Some friends were going to Mexico City and invited me along. Of course I couldn't say no. The only thing I should've done was study Spanish more in high school, but it was too late for that.

I did have to get tickets on United airlines because Alaska Airlines was too expensive, and I also splurged to get business class tickets so I could enjoy the flight more. This meant having overnight flight to get to Mexico City, which wasn't ideal, but I could handle it. Just a little lack of sleep for a day.

Normally, I park at the ParkSFO when I fly out of that airport; however, when I got there, they told me the parking garage was full. Oh, yeah. It was close to the Fourth of July. They did let me know where there was another parking garage nearby, but when I got to that lot, it was full as well. Then THEY let me know that there was another lot called Lot D, and that they should have spaces. It was my third location and I was getting nervous. I drove over to Lot D, and yes there were spaces left. I parked there and then had to take a shuttle to get to the airport, since I had no idea where I was at that point.

Since I had purchased a business class ticket, I got access to the United business class lounge at SFO. That meant some free food and booze before my flight. As it was past 10 PM at night, the lounge would not be open much longer, but I stayed there until it shut down.

Soon I was on board the plane and flying south. It would be about four hours, and the seat was nice but not a lie flat seat. Like Alaska’s First Class, it was just wider and had more legroom, and that was about it. But it still wasn't cramped and that was nice. Nevertheless, I didn’t get any sleep and it soon became morning.
