Ah, my last full day in Florida. My cold/allergies had finally cleared up so I had 100% health again. One interesting thing is that while the effects of it hindered me throughout the days, it didn’t occur of affect performances. It also was much better when I was sleeping.
The weather was cloudy. We didn’t have much sunlight during the week, and sometimes, the rain came down. Mostly, it was just rather cool and cloudy. Not ideal, but better than back in Seattle certainly.
In the late afternoon, we drove out to the venue again. It was much easier the second day as we knew what to expect. Also, this place was very fancy. It was a boat community with some very fancy homes and likely very high fees to join. Just a lot of gilded things and fine art and statues everywhere. Was a joy to be performing for them.
The change to “Bingo” worked very well as the audience seemed to respond much better on the second night. Plus, we were getting good at handing off the mikes or collecting them from whomever was speaking when we had lines. Obviously, it would be great to have a full set of lapel or headset mikes for future shows, but it’s nice to know we can get by this way if needed.
Then we packed up and headed back to the house. It was time to enjoy some more wine.
