I headed over to the London Monument part of the city for photos. And I climbed the famous tower for the first time since 2002. Not sure if it was easier or harder this time around, but I also wasn’t trying to run up all the stairs without stopping. One thing I did want to do was test out my high zoom camera. So once I was up there, I took photos of Tower Bridge and the Shard and other iconic buildings so I could see just how good the zoom range was. The camera did a great job; however, the photos were not very sharp, and the colors were a bit muddy. While a super zoom camera might be useful for surveillance, I'm not sure such a camera is that usable otherwise. In fact, I sold it after the trip.

Back down at the base I did get my certificate for climbing the steps, so it was my second one. I then headed over to the part of London where I had studied back in 2002. I went up to the Dilke House door just for old time sake. Next, I went over to the church where we had our first meeting, and wandered around Russell Square as well. As a student, I didn't go to that park very often because my Tube line was to the west, but I did want to check out that area a little bit.

Back in the Holborn area, I noticed that the “Woman in Black” was still playing. I had seen that show more than anything else in London. I think five times at that point. Although I would not be seeing it ever again there because it's run of many years had finally ended. It's kind of too bad, but what can you do.

In the late afternoon, I saw “Frozen.” Again, this wasn't a show I really knew anything about or was dying to see. I was just super curious about a new show, relatively speaking, and what they could do with special effects and a huge budget. The production didn't disappoint. The special effects were outstanding. Some of them were just hard to believe. It was a very entertaining production, though not one I would ever see again. Nevertheless, it was fun to see once.
