Travel Diary

The final day. The only flight home was an evening one and that worked out well. No 4am wake up for me. The day was just driving around a bit and getting a few things done. We stopped by at the Nevermind bar again and got some lunch. Quite filling, I must say.

Then it was back home to watch one more episode of “Black Mirror.” After that, we packed up and got a ride to the airport.

I had gotten my actor friend Tony a discount ticket so he was on the same flight as I was. Alas, no upgrade to first class for me, although I was pretty close. Just not easy to get that perk this late in the year. Too much competition.

But I had learned from last time. Since TSA there only uses driver’s licenses (or at least that is one method), I could attend the Pre-Check line separately from my friend. It mattered little since the lines were almost none, but just good to know. Also, we got to board early since my friend could use the “extra time” option. As I had both tickets on my phone, that meant I could use it too.

The seats were exit row, which were fine, though it was a full row so not much elbow room. A decent amount of leg room at least. I did wonder if they were going to upgrade me last minute since a flight attendant came to our row and verified my friend’s name. But nope. Though why she did this is a mystery still.

So a decent flight home. The time passed a bit slowly, but eventually we landed in Seattle. The Uber fare was roughly $50, but that was split in half. Not a bad deal. It was of course cold and rainy now, but my next trip to Florida would be in four days.
