Not quite so early, I got up at 6am. I had plenty of time to prepare. No booze still. And light on coffee. Or maybe I had none? Can’t remember. But finally, I headed out and walked to the train station in the light rain. Had to carry an umbrella just for the very first part of the trip.
I arrived just after a train departed so it was a nine-minute wait. That’s fine. I would still be catching the train that I planned on catching. Once on board, I had time to just study Spanish. It’s not a terribly long ride, but a little dull, after so many trips. No delays so soon, we pulled into SeaTac.
Ah, plenty of spare time? I’ll ascend to the roof. I took the elevator upward to the 8th floor and went out on the roof. No view of Rainier, but that was to be expected. I just walked around and took some video. The rain was light. After a bit, I then entered the airport.
Time to see how bad things were. And surprisingly, not too bad at all. Sure, a long line for general boarding, but not bad for TSA PreCheck, and I did have my Touches Pass so I skipped even that and went right to the front. Nice. They took my photo and I went right through. I love this perk!
We boarded on time and since I had been upgraded to first class, my group was near first to board. But it was D gate again (seems like a thing now). We took the bus over to the tarmac area. I learned from the previous time to head to the front of the bus since that area gets unloaded first. Then I found my seat on the plane. It was a quick flight with no drink service due to turbulence, and that was fine with me. Made it go by even faster. We touched down at Boise Airport.
From there, we traveled (my parents and I) west to Kuna, where we did some model home viewing. The places were nice as usual. A lot of home for the money. About 25% of what one would pay in the Bay Area. Oddly, one place had massive beetles around the outside of the house, like a complete infestation. Not a good selling point. Homes are being built excessively fast in Idaho.
Then we headed to Olive Garden as my parents were celebrating their wedding anniversary. I found a nice light salad on the menu and chose that with some soup. Stayed within my calorie limit, so that was nice. The place loves to offer refills though, on pretty much everything. But I had plenty of food with just one serving.
Later in the evening, we had a nice simple dinner back home and then played some Scrabble. I was behind so the first game was anyone’s match for a long while, but finally some big words came in and I emerged victorious. The second and third battle also saw me come out as Scrabble King. It’s never an easy challenge.
After that, I watched an old black and white movie of “Jekyll and Hyde.” I’d never seen it before but I think it matched the book well. Hard to say as it’s been many years since I read that novel. Fun to watch though and see how it compares to the stage show I did back in 2016.
Finally I made a video and then went to bed, quite late.
