I got a ride from my dad over to Boise airport, which wasn't very crowded so early in the morning. I was a little concerned about time as I only left about 15 minutes before boarding started. However, the security line was empty and I breezed right through it. My flight did board on time and I was in another first class seat, heading south for about an hour and a half.
For a drink, I got black coffee. Oh, wait…I got it with cream and sugar. I sat back and read my book for a while and watched the morning coming to life outside the window. There was no meal served on the flight, but that was fine. We landed in San Jose late morning and I only had my backpack, so no luggage to go pick up. I exited the airport to a very nice spring day and begin walking over to the Guadalupe creek and trail.
After a short distance, I stopped and applied sunscreen and my Raiders hat, since the sun was beating down and it would be getting quite warm. I also was sporting my collared shirt, vest, and tie, mainly since I didn't want them getting wrinkled before the evening show. It was just a price I'd have to pay.
I walked south for a couple miles along the trail and saw all the ways spring had come to life, which is always very nice in California this time of year. I then walked into downtown San Jose and found that they had closed some of the streets for cyclists, which was really cool. Then a couple more miles and I reached my friend's house. I stowed my bags and rested for a bit and around 4 o'clock, we drove over to the Old Spaghetti Factory for our show.
We had plenty of time so we did our mic check and then just hung out for a while until showtime. The show was “Murder by Merlot,” which I've been doing for many, many years. The performance was to be downstairs since the crowd size was pretty decent and even then we still had more people signing up before the show. Thus, it started a bit late. The scenes went fairly well overall with a few glitches here and there. But the audience was very nice and afterwards, we said farewell and headed back to the house. I returned to the guest room and slept quite easily as I was exhausted.
