Of course I'm always wanting to take the train these days, but I did happen to check online the night before and found that some of the stations were closed and they were using buses. Well, that was good to know. Luckily, I had checked beforehand.

About an hour before leaving, I also checked Uber and of course, found the prices too high, though getting to SODO station could work. The issue ws that the schedule that I had created overlapped a half hour time block, so I didn't have enough emergency reserve time to go that route. Therefore I was going to drive once again, which was fine with me, as I like the convenience of having my car there.

Driving over wasn't a problem but when I got there, I discovered that the Self Park lot was full. That was a first. It wasn't even full on New Year's Eve or Christmas. First time for everything I guess. So I just went over to the valet lot and they had spaces. The worker said the rate could be the same as the self park rate (which they talk about on the website) so I was fine. I gave my key and left my car and went into the airport. TSA was standard although as usual Clear people were being allowed to take cuts in front of the other people. Hopefully this will change in time. I don't think anyone likes this taking place. But security still was pretty short and I wasn't exactly in a hurry. I killed some time and finally boarded in boarding group A, which wasn't as good as first class, but still got me onto the plane without much of a line. The row was full, which was a little disappointing, but it's a short flight. I did get a drink along the way. I think it was the old-fashioned again which really doesn't taste very good. Or no, wait I wanted the vodkas, the chocolate one, but they thought I ordered the espresso martini, which actually tasted OK and it might be something I order again. We landed at San Jose and I exited the airport.

Uber to the house would've only been about $25 but I figured I could use some exercise so I started walking along the Guadalupe Trail once again this time heading south. I noticed far more homeless encampments, like small villages, being set up where people had created their own community. I suppose it doesn't hurt that much since the bike path is left alone, but it is a little peculiar to see. After a couple miles along the creek I headed into San Jose, and then towards the downtown area. I took photos here and there as it was all new to me. And finally ended up at Tenaya's house. I was pretty tired so the first thing I did was take a short nap and then we went to the show around 4 PM.

We parked a few streets away and walked on over. Our performance areas downstairs and the green room was upstairs which allowed plenty of room for getting ready. We also had the new mic system to try out, which was pretty cool. In the past, you'd never get a six-mic headset system for $200. They usually charge several thousand as a starting point, but I guess competition from China and other places makes it so the market does have a few options if people don't have a lot of money to spend. The show was “Murder on the Sea of Love” and it went very well. It's an easy show for me to do. And the audience was pretty full. Afterwards, we packed up and headed back to the house. There we talked for a while and I finally crashed around 11 PM.
