Thankfully, I managed to get an upgrade for this flight. We departed around noon on Friday and I arrived in Sacramento in the mid afternoon. However, I then had to wait about an hour for a ride due to some heavy traffic. There really isn’t much to do at that airport, but after time, Tony swung by and we headed to Rio Vista. There was still considerable traffic to get there as I guess it was rush-hour on a Friday, and that's never good. It reminded me of how much I don't miss commuting.

The location was a nice country club or something to the like. We had a nice green room with plenty of space and I checked out the performance area. There would be a lot of people there. It looked pretty packed. But it’s fun to do both the big crowds as well as the small ones.

Our starting time was a little delayed due to one actress having some difficulties reaching the place (traffic and confusion with directions). But with things like this, you just have to be flexible. The show was “Murder by Merlot” and it's one I've done for many years, so the part is completely familiar to me. We performed our scenes for the audience and it went fairly well overall.

I didn't try much of the food so I was a bit hungry. Definitely hadn’t eaten much that day. After the show, I got a ride over to Fairfield where I would be staying in La Quinta Inn for a couple of days. It wasn’t too pricey and maybe $110 per night.

I checked in and headed up to my room on the third floor. The room was fairly nice and definitely a very good value for the money. I wanted to keep the expenses down because I did want to at least try to break even on this trip, though that (as always with shows involving flights) would be tough. I walked around to look for some food. There was a local Burger King, but I was past the time limit for walk-ins and I didn't have a car, so I was out of luck there. I headed over to 7-Eleven to at least get a few beers and then back to the room. I was fairly exhausted by that point, so I slept in no time.
