This was a trip to New York City, and only for fun, as I would not be doing a dinner show out there. I hadn't been to New York City much as the previous year, but I was still trying to catch some flights out there to visit friends and have fun. This was sort of a repeat of the year before when I went out and got to see a Yankees game. A nice tradition.
Since the trip would be under 48 hours, I thought I might just park at the airport parking garage and pay the $70--except upon checking, I found they had raised the prices yet again, and it was now $37 per day to park there, so the deal wasn't as good even for two days. The Lyft fee was atrocious, and would have been about $75 for the 20-minute drive (just one way); however, Uber was much cheaper. They were only asking about $42. I could do that there, and then take a link home for three dollars so it would be $45 total and save me a lot. However, I did contact my neighbor who wasn't doing anything, and I ended up just paying her $40 to give me a ride to the airport, which I think it's a good deal for both of us.
Since it was around 10 o'clock at night, SeaTac wasn't very crowded and the security line had almost nobody in front of me. I took some photos at the airport and transferred over to N-gate to find my gate. Since I didn't need to use the overhead luggage, there really wasn't any point in getting on the plane first, so I decided to wait till the very very end, and be the last passenger to board. Less time on the plane that way. I had received an upgraded first class ticket, so I was quite comfortable and even though I wasn't terribly hungry, I did get the meal, which was a cold pita wrap, and some fruit, chips, and a cookie. I was able to save the chips and cookie, so I wasn't overfed on the flight. I did have a scotch, though, which I nursed through most of the flight.
