    Time to head home.

Always a little sad, especially when it means leaving fine weather for grey and cloudy. But I had a flight to catch. We left around 7am and traffic was light. Soon, I was dropped off at RSW.

I had arrived early, so I checked my large bag and then headed outside to the gazebo area. It was deserted as usual, and I got to spend some time out there. It’s quite peaceful and I’m surprised more people don’t make use of it. But I’m also glad they don’t.

After recording some videos, I headed to the security line. My ticket didn’t have TSA PreCheck as that had expired, and I guess I had not changed over to my new number given by Global Entry. Oops. The regular line was incredibly slow and somewhat long. By the time I cleared security, the plane had started boarding, but I didn’t need the overhead space, so I was able to just board at the very end, a method that suits me just fine.

Again, I had an aisle seat, but it had been upgraded to first class. We took off around 9:30am and I was heading west once again. Since it was morning, I had water for my first drink. Yeah, crazy, I know. The hot meal was nice: scrabbled eggs, bacon, potato wedges, croissant, granola, and yogurt. Yeah, they have quite a few items on the plate. I ate some, but not all of it. I would be reducing intake once I returned to Seattle.

After that, I relaxed with some Duolingo and sleep. The flight went by fairly fast. Soon, we touched down in the cold, cloudy Pacific Northwest.

Back in Seattle, the baggage carousel took quite some time and some concern was arising, but there were many others waiting for bags too, so I figured it was just a little slow. And finally, it appeared! I had my suitcase and headed to the garage.

The Lyft and Uber prices were around $70, so that was a definite NOPE! I caught the Link train and headed over to Stadium station. From there, it was a $20 fee to get home. A perfect compromise as it avoided me dragging my large suitcase for over a half mile.

Then back in my front door. The final Florida trip (for the moment) was finished. It had been quite a year of travel and shows.
