Instead of going skiing, this time we would go snowshoeing. This type of activity is far less involved, and I think people wanted a more low-key adventure this year. But we did have to rent snowshoes so we went to a place in town and rented several pairs. Rentals of course are always a little bit of a risk. My pair fit okay, and I felt confident they would work. We then drove out to a local mountain trail area. Snowshoeing is pretty much just hiking, but you wear snowshoes because of the snow and ice on the ground. While my pair was working out, someone else's pair was too large and her feet were slipping too much, so we traded, and the new pair worked okay for me, although the previous pair worked much better, but no matter. Both people got a workable situation, and that was what mattered most.

We hiked up the mountain and got some great views of a lake and then hiked back down again. Over the lake, we also got to see some eagles doing some hunting for fish, which was pretty magnificent. I really was in dire need of a high zoom camera at the moment, but all I had was my iPhone. After that, we drove back to the house.

For dinner, we walked downtown and found a place called Sweet Lou's Restaurant and Tap House. It was a cool place, and I had a chicken Caesar salad, which was incredibly good. I took one of my 360 photos there, and enjoyed a beer as well. It was a nice dinner. After that, it was back to the house. A fine day.
