Friday morning we went out to breakfast. It was fun to eat outdoors, at a nice little café. I had coffee and a scrambled eggs mixture, which was decent. Afterwards. Tony swung by and picked me up and we took a 45-minute drive north to the casino.

The casino does seem like it's out in the middle of nowhere. But if you follow the directions on Google maps, you eventually arrive at the place. Outside it’s very nice with a huge guitar and it certainly looks like a Hard Rock establishment. There are two main buildings--the casino on the left and the hotel on the right. We checked into the hotel.

I had to share a room, but that was fine with me, as I don't have any problem with that. We then went downstairs to the performance area to do our mic check and go over things. I did notice that the casino floor was mostly slot machines, and there was even a cigarette vending machine, which I don't often see.

The ballroom area was very large. I think they had about 240 guests coming, so quite a few tables were set up, and our green room area was sectioned off and very large as well. It was going to be a big night.

The mic check went well and we then had to rehearse our songs also, since the show involved music. We were doing “Murder in Vegas,” which is a casino/Vegas theme, and rather befitting for this particular venue. I was also trying out my Gaston wig since I really didn't have any other use for it. I decided to utilize it for the Elvis role. In retrospect, I think it was probably way too big, but kind of fun to work with anyway. Such wigs are in great shape at first but get worse and worse over time.

This particular gig was extra exciting because it was a place that hired acts such as Sting, and other fairly large musicians--although there are two performance areas. One is an amphitheater, and the other one is the ballroom, and we were, of course, in the ballroom, so we weren't exactly on the same level technically, but I like to think maybe, in a way, we were.

The show went quite well and afterwords we changed out of costumes and met up in the restaurant for some drinks and food. It was nice to be done with everything and we were all a lot more relaxed then. After the bar closed, I hung out for a while downstairs and watch some friends do a little gambling, and then went up to my room for the night. It had been quite a day.
