For food and drink, I found a liquor store to obtain a nice hearty 9.9% beer. And I got a bagel so I could sit down outside and relax a bit. It was quite peaceful as I had my earbuds in. Afterwards, I took the subway up to Central Park. I was finally starting to make use of the subway more. It’s really the fastest way to get around.

Central Park is one of my favorite places in NYC. It’s free and there’s much to see. I walked around for a couple of hours, taking photos, and marveling at how wild the smoke from the Canadian fires were making the scenery. Almost apocalyptic.

In the evening, I made my way down to Broadway as I had a ticket to a production of “Peter Pan Goes Wrong.” This is by the creators of “The Play That Goes Wrong,” and I believe “A Comedy About a Bank Robbery.” Since I’d seen the other two shows and really liked them, I wanted to see this one as well, and it did not disappoint. Very funny spoof on Peter Pan and I highly recommend it for a wild and zany comedy. I did buy their overpriced wine, which came in a nice plastic cup. I imagine it’s how they sort of justify the high prices as you get a “souvenir” with it, and it allows for a refill tat intermission to be a little less obscene in pricing, but that’s the system and at least I’m aware of it. And again, awesome show.

At night, I headed to the JFK area and back to the hotel near the airport. The proximity is nice as it’s only a $12 Uber ride into JFK. They also have a shuttle, but sometimes it’s easier to avoid the extra challenges those rides incur and get a private ride into the airport.

The room of course wasn’t too fancy, but for the price, it’s actually not a bad room at all. I don’t usually need food or anything when just staying a night. I’ve learned to live without constantly eating. Fasting has taught me that.
