I checked out of the hotel Sunday morning and headed north. My friend Bong showed up as well so it was great to get some exercise and wander around Central Park. I had not been there in years. The squirrels looked about the same. I grabbed a few shots of Bow Bridge as always and captured the Imagine mosaic—with people on it though. Impossible to get it without a person unless you’re pretty demanding. I photographed the horse-drawn carriages and the “not exactly from FRIENDS” fountain. And this was all with my iPhone as I am not too keen on carrying around a large DSLR these days when a smartphone can do almost as good of a job. Well, actually better when compared to the dynamic range of my recent Canon 77D (now sold off).

Next was a visit to a bar for a beer and some shots. After that, I bid farewell and took an Uber to JFK. I didn’t have a huge amount of time and it would be nice to not worry about multiple train rides.

At the airport, I passed by some fancy liquor displays. How much for really fancy scotch? Well, a 1937 Macallan was priced at $45,000. Yeah, how thirsty are you?

I walked by a gate that listed London Heathrow departing in an hour. Yeah, it reminded me that it was a flight I needed to book in the near future.

The flight home was regular class, though I did have the aisle. It was a 3x3 arrangement with one aisle. Fairly standard for Alaska.

The long flight being completed, I arrived back in SFO and took the shuttle to the car. Seemed like I had just left the parking garage the day before. Probably because I had. I then began the long drive home, which was in the pouring rain. Apparently, storm clouds paid a visit while I was away.

    Good times.
