In the morning, my foot cut seemed a bit worse. I certainly didn’t want to chance infection or anything, so I found first aid kit and added iodine and bandaids. It appeared to do the trick.

We tried some cappuccino from the vending machines instead of the little shop. Tasted...okay, though the shop’s version was better (though not by a huge amount). Machines were just much cheaper.

We met our driver in the town square around 9am. It would be a day of being chauffeured around the Amalfi Coast. Having a private car beats the busses by far. It always feels much safer on the curvy cliff roads with endless deadly drops all around.

For destinations, we selected Positano and Amalfi, but asked for driver recommendations for anything else. Since we only had one day, it would be brief visit to each city.

The drive was colorful and scenic with many views of the sea and sea cliff towns. Taking photos while riding in the van wasn’t easy. Just too hard to get good sharp photos. We did pull over in places to get photos though--and some snacks.

Positano was our first stop. It’s a steep city right on the coast, with colorfully painted homes and many, many steps. Whoever lived there would have calves of steel.

It’s a remarkable city, though after the church and some wandering around, the lure dies down quite a bit. Outside of shopping and eating, the Amalfi Coast towns don’t seem to offer a great deal to do once you’ve taken your photos. We hiked up the many, many steps and headed out.

The next town was Amalfi. Same situation as the first town, but there was a pretty great church to explore.

Finally, we headed to Ravello for lunch. It’s a little farther inland and less crowded. An outside restaurant was the perfect place to eat. The weather was excellent as always.

After Ravello, we headed back. A side stop was to a little place where olive oil is made. The owners presented a huge assortment of oils, where we dipped bread into and consumed a fair amount. In the end, we all bought some oils and I got a couple bottles as gifts.

Finally, we reached the end. We opted for a home-cooked meal in the flat. Pasta and wine. Nothing but the best. Soon, it was time for a visit to the pub under the flat. They were showing the World Cup game and we wanted to enjoy it with the locals (and other tourists). A truly memorable evening.
