This day involved quite a long drive to the waterfalls, but first we picked up my nephew Tanner, who would be coming along for the day.
The first stop was a massive bridge in Idaho, and that was spanning a massive gorge over Snake river. In general, I just hadn’t figured Idaho had such wild topography. It always just mainly seemed flat to me with mountain ranges in places of course; however, nature carved out some truly amazing features. And this was one of them. We stopped there and took photos under the bridge.
The next stop was the waterfalls and that were impressive. I guess since it was later in the year, the amount of water had slowed down considerably, although they were still great to observe. Certainly worth checking out at least once.
Along with those sites, we stopped at a few other places of note here and there. One spot has waterfalls coming out of the sides of mountains. Pretty cool. Another spot has some history of early settlers, and a covered wagon to observe. Just amazing to see how they did things in the past. Then it was off to a museum to look at some fossils and bones. Some of the animals, I had no idea even lived in this part of the world way back when. After that, we headed back home.
It was dinner and then game night. And since Tanner was with us, we played Yahtzee! I think I even finally won a game.
