Sunday morning Larry took me out in his ATV, which was a pretty wild experience. It's an open air vehicle where you wear helmets because of the risks and speed, and you go over all sorts of dirt terrain. I brought my drone out there and got some great footage of the Arizona desert. It was a place where having a drone was wonderful bonus. Then we headed back to the house, so he could get another set of keys which allowed the ATV to go even faster (yeah, it’s an odd thing). I picked up my earplugs because the vehicle and oncoming wind were darn loud. After another adventure of driving around, we came back and then we all headed to a sports bar.
We went to a Steelers bar, but there were lots of games playing. I got a beer and a grilled sandwich which was pretty tasty. It’s good to eat carelessly on occasion. And they definitely do food well out there.
Then it was more driving around, and I got to see some of the places where the famous cacti grow. Apparently the main type of cactus out there, Saguaro, takes 70 years for even the first arm to grow on them, and they're highly protected. You can't even mess with them if they're on your own property.
Another wild site was, well, wild horses, which literally just roamed out there. They will come into people’s yards and graze or just stay out in the wilderness. I had no idea those existed in places like Arizona.
After that, we headed to Tonto National Forest, or at least the outskirts of it. We did get to see some excellent sunset views and I took pictures when possible. Then it was back to the house.
