Travel Diary

Today we drove over to the caves. Terry opted to take the cave tour, while Steve and I went west to Tulum to drive around. There was not much to really see or do there. Even the beach was very hard to access and the roads were in very bad shape. I did get a quick view of the ocean and then we headed back. Once Terry was done, we grabbed lunch at a nice outdoor restaurant where you pretty were eating right on the beach (under cover of course). It was inside a gated area, so there were much fewer peddlers around, though it was also pretty empty.

In the evening we tried out a bar where they have a bartender doing tricks with glasses and tumblers. It resembled something out of the movie “Cocktail.” Apparently, women also dance on the bar, but no dancers were there that evening. Maybe it was the off season.
