Travel Diary

Woke at 9am for the others were ready to head to the Baylands. That was my outing for the day as I had not been out there in five years. We drove over and found the parking lot packed. Never saw that before. Maybe due to President’s Day weekend. But we found a space and walked along the path. So many memories. No pelicans though. They were missing. Eventually, the others turned backed but I wanted to explore farther. I went to the old hills with poles and up to the viewpoint benches. I did want to fly the drone but the signs said drones were prohibited. Too bad. I took some videos and photos and headed back, jogging when I could but the pack weight made that hard—and a sweatshirt and heavy coat.

We then went to See’s Candies, where I bought a box and bought my friends a box to say thanks for allowing me to use their guest room. I was finally using up my gift cards this year as I started 2025 with three of them.

Back at the house, we went to a nearby home to take some dogs for a walk. Then sat back and watched “The Maltese Falcon,” a movie I had not seen in many years. Some other actors would be performing in a mystery parody of it next month, but probably not me. Fun to see regardless. Then it was just hanging out and relaxing for the rest of the day.
