As we flew across the states, Monday turned to Tuesday. Pretty quickly, in fact, since we departed just before midnight. When we landed in Charlotte, the sun was rising.
I’d never been to that airport before. It was surprisingly nice and very clean. Mainly, there were shops everywhere, like countless food places. People must eat like crazy at that airport. I located my next flight location and then walked around. Resisting the foods was tough. Just so much sweet and savory smells. I caved at a pretzel place on my second walk past it. Just looked and smelled like a delicious treat. I bought a regular one for $7, which seemed higher than advertised. Guess I should ask next time. And then I promptly had: just one bite. Yeah, just wanted to taste it. I could eat more of it later. (Which turned out to be the next day.) Worth it? I guess so. Scratched an itch.
I also received a text with some exciting news: I had been upgraded to first class. That was a shock. I’d never received an upgrade on American before—mainly since it wasn’t my primary airline. But this was great. After boarding, I found my nice aisle seat in first class. I offered to trade with the person next to me, but she was happy where she was at. I’ve been flying in aisle so much, I’ve started to miss taking photos out the window. Oh well.
It was a short flight, which was nice, but then again, I finally had my upgrade and now no food was being served. I guess I was getting a little hungry then. Oh well. Later, we landed in Fort Myers.
And now it was warm. I still had my bubble jacket on since I needed it for the chilly airplane. I removed that and waited for my ride. Serena didn’t take long and arrived to pick me up. We headed back to her house. There, I just promptly took a nap for an hour or so. It was direly needed.
Then time for the show. I got my costume ready and we drove off. I was still dozy so slept through part of the ride. In Naples, we parked at the dock and moved the props and stuff onto the boat. I placed three chairs together on the green room deck to try and sleep some. Didn’t really work.
Others started arrived. It was a hot day but that would make for a nice comfortable evening. For this show, we were using the new mike system that I bought for the company. It had three mikes and the boat had one, so four total. This would help us out a lot. Sound issues occurred with the engines running during the tour.
Like the previous time, the sunset was divine. It was just perfect for photos and unblocked by clouds, offering a red, orange, and golden horizon and sky for some time. We also went past the beautiful rich homes on the water. Such a lovely area indeed.
Then the show began and everything went fairly well. The third scene had some line issues towards the end of it, so I was very concerned about the final scene, but that actually went pretty well. Afterwards, we greeted guests and hung out until we docked again. It’s a beautiful time when you can stand around on the top deck and take in the night air and watch the stars.
It was a fine evening indeed, even if I was incredibly tired. Then the long drive home. We stopped to buy wine and beer and got quite a lot of it. I mean, we went to town on beer and all. No way to drink it all in the next five days.
Back at the house, there was some chatting and such. I think we tried to watch some tele but people were too tired, including me. So we all crashed early. Well, around 1am or so.
