Another relaxing morning for me. My friend Serena had to work so I just got some computer work done and then watched a movie with John. It was “Wind River” and pretty good. When Serena got home, we had some time before my flight so we watched an episode of “Hanna.” It was then time to head to the airport.
Traffic wasn’t too bad and I arrived with plenty of time. I said goodbye and headed in. TSA went by very fast and I had a little time to kill. The flight was delayed 40 minutes, so then even more time. For this flight, I did get the upgrade so I was in First Class, though it was the first row, which meant I needed to get overhead space, so boarding last wasn’t an option. I also had a window seat, which was nice, but as it was a night flight, very few photo ops were available. For flights like that, the aisle seat is best.
We were served a nice meal. It was jerk chicken and some rice. I wasn’t terribly hungry but I ate what I could. We also got the mixed nuts, which of course didn’t have peanuts as that isn’t done much these days, due to the risk for people with allergies. Oddly, though, the guy next to me brought his own bag of peanuts and munched on those for a while. It was just odd. I figured he was just naive about the allergy issue and was not being callous to others. Hard to say.
After the meal, we were offered ice cream. Since the portion was small, I accepted. I mean it’s ice cream after all. Very hard to turn down such an offer. Still, the double fold vanilla is tiring. I would love different flavors in the future.
I didn’t buy WIFI this time, so I watched a movie provided by their entertainment program. It was “Emma” and pretty well done. It also helped pass a lot of the flight time since I had only slept a short amount before take off.
Eventually, we landed in Seattle. The first thing I did after exiting was put on my bubble jacket. I had to take it with me to Florida just for the sole purpose of having it for the trip home. Then I checked Uber. $49...which was too much. $45 is my limit and even that seems wasteful.
I headed to the Link station and hopped on a train. I purchased a ticket before the train arrived, but could not activate it as it would not show up in my account. Strange. But at least it would show under recent purchases in case I was checked for a ticket. No one ever did. But I hear they are going to do that more in the future. We shall see. Not an issue as I always buy my tickets though.
To kill the time, I studied Spanish and an hour later, we arrived in Cap Hill. I then walked home in the cold. Trip complete.
