I had intended to head back on Monday, but we were having so much fun, and I figured there wasn't really any big reason to get home, so I extended the vacation another day by just changing my flight for a small extra fee.
We drove up to Fishkill and went to a really fancy taco place that had some excellent food. I then wished my stomach were bigger because there were some excellent options there. Afterwards, we drove by an old home or workplace of George Washington, although it was closed. We then briefly stopped at a cool place where you could see a waterfall coming down a very steep hill – only there was only a trickle of water at that time. We went over to a place called the Walkway over the Hudson, which is a huge pedestrian bridge spanning across the Hudson River. It was great for photos. Only downside was that it was rainy and getting very cold – and I wasn't dressed for such weather as I didn't anticipate it.
After that, we headed back to the house. Since it was early enough, Jennifer drove me out to the West Point area so I could take a better look at the Academy. Along the way, the rain got extremely heavy (like violently heavy) although it was pretty fascinating. After we returned back, we all went out to the Red Line Diner, and I got a beer and a chicken sandwich which was excellent. (Even looking at the photos of it reminds me of just how delicious food can be.) Since my flight was so early the next morning, I figured there wasn't any point in going to bed, so I stayed up all night and Andrew stayed up as well. We both chatted until it was time to leave. And then he was nice enough to give me a ride to the airport so I wouldn't have to book an Uber, which I'm not even sure I would've even found that early in the morning, being that it wasn’t that big of a town.
