    FRIDAY

Friday was the first graduation ceremony. It was at the Tulane basketball stadium. Parking would be tough, but there was a free public parking garage nearby that made it much easier to reach the destination. Nice when cities work together with their colleges. Afterwards, it was pictures and then some driving around to get fried chicken. Fried chicken is a big thing down there. Who knew?

At night it was dinner in the restaurant Brianna had been working at for quite some time called the Jack Rose. Very nice place with fancy decor and chandelier lights. The food was terrific and upstairs there was a trendy bar with great views of downtown NOLA, complete with a setting sun. Highly recommend checking out.

Afterwards, it was a trip to Bourbon Street to see the craziness that goes on there. It wasn’t as chaotic as I expected. I guess i had always imagined it was a nonstop Mardi Gras parade with imposing figures in tall costumes, straight out of a James Bond film from the 1980s. Turns out it’s busy and lots of tourists are drinking, but nothing too wild. We did get to catch some of the Warriors game in a bar though. That was fun.
