On Monday, I wanted to grab a bagel from Liberty Bagels as they just looked and smelled so good, but once down there, the line was just too long. It was a work day after all. I headed back to the hotel and checked out.
Then things were a bit different as I had to take a bus to an airport in New Jersey. It actually was a simpler trip than reaching JFK, but about an hour long bus ride.
Once there, I went in and found the American Airlines lounge. I didn’t have a pass or a coupon, but they allow people to just pay $25 and enter. So I did that. It would be a normal work day for me. I just used the WIFI in the lounge to get work done. Plus, there was endless coffee drinks, and food, and booze (though some of the drinks had a fee, which was a bit annoying). I like a lounge where it’s all free and you don’t have to sound cheap when you turn down buying a drink because there is a cost and it makes zero sense to waste the money.
It would be a long day in the lounge, but time passed and I was soon back on a plane, heading home. Luckily, I was upgraded to first class this time. And the meal was actually pretty good with tasty cheese, fresh fruit, a small salad, a dinner roll, and a really sweet dessert.
Despite going back several times zones, it was still dark when I got back to SFO. Same old routine. I was soon driving home on the empty freeways.
