We enjoyed our last Hawaiian sunrise. Our stay had come to an end. I made one last pot of my pricey 100% Kona coffee and made believe it was the best coffee ever. (Coming back on the plane, the airline attendant claimed that they were serving 100% pure Kona coffee, but it just couldn't be; it just couldn't be!) After a small breakfast, we packed up and checked out. We returned the rental gear and took a final drive down to the place where we first visited the ocean. The waves crashed against the rocks. I even spotted a few crabs hanging out on the lower rocks. They must have spotted me as well because they scampered away in a hurry.

Next, we went to the airport and checked our bags. Once on the plane, we traveled to Honolulu for a brief layover. I took in the warm weather for the last time. We then boarded a larger plane to SFO. From the air, one could see how poorly treated the land of Oahu really is. The ground seemed plagued with industry and stripped of its color and life. I would hope Kauai never ends up the same way.

The plane ride back was quiet and I mainly wrote diary entries. I also got some reading done. It was the first reading I had a chance to do since the trip began. We touched down in SFO a few minutes early. Terry and Lesly had a ride, but Misty and I did not, so we walked over to the bus depot and waited 45 minutes to catch a bus to the BART station. Once we were there, we got off the bus and I could feel the cold air all around me. I looked up and there was cold fog surrounding us. Yeah, the trip was really over now.

The fog continued to roll in.
