I was able to sleep in a while and then went downstairs to get the free breakfast. I went very light, with just a couple of things. I tried a sip of each the juices, just to get an idea of the taste. I grabbed a yogurt and returned to the room. My friend Pam came over in the early afternoon and then we took an Uber to into Livermore to visit a few wineries. First, we went to the Singing Winemaker, where Pam really enjoys going. I'd only been there once, but I liked the experience. The wines are not really my style, but kind of neat that they have that type of variety (e.g., chocolate wines). We did a flight sampling. Then headed over to the Wood Family Winery, where I had been several times before. In fact, my former neighbor used to work there. They didn't have any tastings going on, so we just got a glass of wine each and sat down and talked for a while. It was a nice experience.
Then we went back to the hotel and got ready to go to Gallagher's Pub in Dublin. The pub wasn't terribly crowded, but there was definitely a number of people there. And maybe a dozen singers. So it was about a 30-minute wait or longer between songs. Nevertheless, I got about four songs in and did the usual ones. (I didn't feel like chancing anything new on that night.) Unfortunately, I was not feeling great and getting quite a headache and chills too despite having my pullover on. Yeah, something was wrong. I thought it was the heat from running for the past couple days, or maybe being dehydrated, but I was not in a good state. In fact, I had to use a towel with ice cubes to cool my head. I tried Tylenol, but even that didn't help. Yeah, I was in a bad way. Took a while to get to sleep that night. Otherwise, it was a very nice day.
