This was the hiking day, or hot springs, or whatever was planned. I waited for a text from Mimi, and when it arrived, I got ready and left. I first picked up Tanner and then drove to Mimi and Greg’s. We carpooled from there. Our first stop would be Pine Flats Hot Springs.
On the way, we stopped at the gas station/market/Subway. This time, I did get a sandwich. As Tanner didn't have any money with him, I bought him a sandwich as well. After that, we got back on the road and headed to the Hot Springs. Pine Flats was new to all of us, and there were very few people at the parking area. It was a hike to get to the springs, which was along the banks of the river, but then we reached the Hot Springs area and it was pretty disappointing. There was one small pool and even that was only about 10 inches deep. It might be that there was just not enough rain that type of year or something. Hard to say. The trail pretty much ended there too as the cliffs were very steep around that area, and kind of dangerous.
We then decided to go back to the Kirkham Hot Springs, where I would be making my second visit. We parked, and this time I had brought swimming shorts, although I had forgotten my flip-flop sandals, which was a big mistake because the rocks are tough to move along if you don't have something on your feet. The crowds were pretty light and the river seemed a bit higher, so some of the pools were flooded with the river water, but the falls themselves were nice and hot so it was like taking an incredibly hot shower but in a cool pool underneath. Overall, it was a great experience, and something I highly recommend. Just a very relaxing day in water you simply don't ever want to leave. I had my drone fly around and got some nice footage of the area. We stayed for several hours and then headed back.
At Mimi and Greg's we had some dinner and then said farewell. I drove Tanner back to his house and then drove back to my parents. All were asleep when I got home so I crashed myself.
