I woke up around 4:30am after getting to bed at 3:30am. Yeah, not great. I left the condo around 5:40AM. I headed down to the link station, although the trains were only running every 20 minutes so I had to make sure I caught the right one. But I got to the airport in time and went through security around 7:10 AM. About 8:00AM, we boarded and soon we were heading south.
I had been upgraded to first class, so I got a meal which was nice even though it wasn't incredibly good. I had coffee for my drink. Soon, we landed in San Jose. The weather was remarkably nice and I left the airport and started walking along the Guadalupe River.
The park is much nicer now that they cleared out the homeless camps. It's actually a nice treat for people in that area. The only downside, of course, is being so close to the airport and having that noise, but there were many bicyclists and a few joggers on the path. I think it was the only person walking. In San Jose, I headed into town and met up with Levi and Dawn. We went into a coffee place and hung out there for a while and discussed future shows and script ideas. I just had a black coffee which was overpriced of course but that was all I got.
We then headed over to Target since they wanted to get a birthday greeting for one of the guests at the show. I looked for some conversation hearts, but couldn't find any. Then we drove over to the old spaghetti factory.
We had a lot of extra time so I took a nap on the couch in the hallway. It was most welcome. Later, actors started showing up and we got ready for the event. The crowd was wonderful and we had a great show. “Murder by Merlot” is one I've done for many many years so it's a fairly easy role for me now. I barely have to look at the script at all. Although we did have three rehearsals so that of course helped a lot. After the show, I got a ride from Tenaya over to her place to stay in her guest room in the garage. So that was great as it saved me about $40-$100 on a hotel room. Without that option, I don't think I could've done the show. I was incredibly exhausted so I fell asleep probably around even before 11 PM.
