On this day, we’d be heading south to go visit the pillars of Rome, which are basically rock formations that look pretty cool and have been around for ages. Idaho definitely has a vast variety of geological sites to explore. I skipped breakfast but did get some coffee in a thermos and we then headed out for the long drive. For the first half hour we had cell phone coverage, but that ended in time and we drove down long stretches of road with hardly any other cars around. It's pretty amazing that so much of the inner country has such sparse populations, but you can really see it when you drive long distances in places like Idaho.

We stopped in one town for gas and I discovered it had no cell phone access. It would be so odd to live in a town where you just didn't have cell coverage whenever you went out. I imagine people had Wi-Fi at home just not out and about. It’s like going back in time 25 years.

We got to the site and it was a place where there's not really much hiking to see the sites. You get out of the car and start taking photos. In fact, you don't even have to leave the car as you could take photos from the windows as you passed by. But we got out and walked around some. There were fences in some places, and other areas you could just run up to the mountains and take all the photos you want there, or get up close look at how the geology looked. I did that a few times and it was pretty cool to have no limits. Then it was time to head north again.

We did visit the gravesite of Charbonneau, who was the son of Sacajawea, and I didn't even know this person existed, but I suppose it made sense that she would have children. It's just pretty cool how prolific his life was and how much he did with it.

Then we made the long drive home and soon we were in cell phone coverage again, and I could see how well the stock market did that day. It was a fantastic day indeed.

Later, Andy and Tanner came over and we had dinner and then played some games. We started off with Aggravation and then a round of Camel King. I lost, but it was close. Andy and Tanner left, but I played more games with mom and dad. I think we played probably five rounds of Aggregation. I just had to win—but that didn't seem to happen. I guess all my luck was used up the night before. I'd say it was about 1:30AM when I finally went to sleep.
