Always easy to wake up when going home. Guess I get too nervous to sleep deeply, although I was waking up early almost the entire trip. Just not sleeping deeply these days.
Serena was ready with coffee so I filled a mug and we drove to the airport. Little traffic as it was early Sunday morning. We said farewell and I headed to my old outdoor gazebo for a video. I could tell it was shaping up to be a nice day, but I had a plane to catch. TSA PreCheck was fairly fast and I was soon passing by the bagel shop. Seriously, every single time. It’s like they have Burnt Bagel on the menu or something. Smells awful.
Then I waited for my plane. Alas, no upgrade. I was pretty far down the list. I had 6D, so aisle seat. The plane was pretty much completely filled. No empty middle on this flight, but the lady in the middle was very nice.
We took off on time and I got some snacks, but skipped the first drink. Easier to sleep that way. I napped for quite a while and then did want the second drink, but I was in the bathroom when the flight attendant came by and she didn’t ever return to ask me about a drink, even though I was literally one seat away. No matter.
Sleep was done, but I used the WIFI movies and watched about 30 minutes of “Where the Crawdads Sing.” Good movie thus far. I’ll have to continue it later. I think I finally finished “Sinners” (yawn, more Vampires) and “Weapons,” which I had forgotten I finished recently. Never a great sign.
In Seattle, we touched down. Upon exiting, I realized just how cold it was. Yeah, not in Florida anymore. I got my bubble jacket out of my suitcase and then went to the Link station. The train was crowded on the way home. Lots of people heading to the big NFL game, but finally, we reached Cap Hill Station and I walked home, not being exceptionally tired for once. Guess the sleep and sobriety helped.
