Took the train to the airport. Had a nice upgrade to first class, which included a free meal. Hurrah! No booze of course. Then arrived in San Jose. With time, I walked to downtown. It was cold but nice weather regardless. One big change was some signs stating no more homeless camping tolerated there. I wasn’t sure if they actually meant it, but as I walked onward, I noticed zero camps. A pretty massive difference. Gone were the various emcampments which ranged from just simple tents to large scale built out ramshackle properties. Sad to see people lose everything, but it also isn’t a place for people to live, for various reasons. Hopefully, all are in better situations now.
Once in town, I headed to a coffee shop to meet up with friends. Not wanting to be a freeloader, I ordered a simple and overprices cup of black coffee. Like usually, the payment machine wanted a huge tip. Sorry, but no. I’ll do my part to help reduce the tipping fatigue that the world grows wary of. Factor it into the price if you need more money for the workers.
We chatted there for a while. We, being Corey, Mary, Steve, and myself. After time, I said farewell to them and headed into the Old Spaghetti Factory for preparation for the show.
While the crowd wasn’t as large as usual, they were fabulous. For starters, my coffee friends attended and it was great to have them there. Overall, everyone engaged really well and things went superb. I was able to add a lot of mingle improv for my character too.
After the show, I got a ride back to Pleasanton from Corey. We chatted and got caught up and then I checked in at the Larkspur Hotel. It was late so no cookies for me.
