This would be a very busy day. I got up early to drive over to SeaTac and park there. I selected the offsite lot as it’s about half the price of the airport parking lot.
Then I caught a flight to SFO. My seat was upgrade to first and it wasn’t long before we landed. But I had a lot of time to kill, so I visited the lounge there and found a nice seat. I got the free food but passed on the free liquor. Next year! Still, there was a lot of time to hang out. I had my laptop so I worked on some files and stuff and finally, I exited the lounge and my ride picked me up.
We then went to the venue which was a nice little restaurant in Mountain View. After parking, we went upstairs and got sorted out. The challenge would be finishing the show on time, but these shows almost always start and end late. I did have a backup flight for the next day, but my friend Tina was flying to New York and she could not miss her flight.
The crowd did arrive, yet a few were delayed so they wanted to start late. Alas, nothing we could do except move things along and a nice pace and keep the time between scenes down to a minimum. Thankfully, we did end fairly close to the desired time and packed up fast—like faster than ever in the history of shows.
Then we drove to the airport. Yet as fate would have it, the freeway entrance was closed for construction and that forced us on a long detour. Time was ticking, but we did reach the airport on time, though very close. TSA was quite short and I got through in 10 minutes. Then I raced to the gate and arrived just before boarding started. I had been upgraded to first, but i was in the first row, so I needed to board early to ensure I had overhead space.
Then it was a nice evening flight back home, with a wonderful sunset to watch as it set near downtown San Francisco. I had a nice little meal and shortly after, we landed in Seattle. I jogged on over to the parking lot, paid for the parking (about $18) and headed home.
