Friday morning we drove about 45 minutes to reach a waterfall that located in a canyon. It's not a huge falls at terms of volume, but does come from an impressive height and it's well worth seeing. Plus it's easy to reach—just about a 10th of a mile from the parking lot. I took all the photos I could of the waterfall, but noticed other trails when I was walking back, so I climbed onto one of those and soon found myself hiking along the canyon walls and over the tall cliff rocks.
The hike just kept going, and I noticed a young couple was sort of trailblazing the way, so I figured if they were following a path, I could follow the same path. Eventually, they veered off into some descending grassy planes, which looked pretty nice, but for me, I was following the cliff. Once I reached a type of summit, I took some more video and pictures and then headed back. It was a pretty epic journey and really fun to scale in boulders and take some (slight) risks.
We then drove back home and had dinner and then played some games of Scrabble where I was once again reminded that sometimes you do have to take chances on words if you want to win—fortune favors the bold type of thing. It was a nice and enjoyable day.
