I slept in until 10am. Having a sore back didn’t make it easy to get up. I packed up and watched a little Redzone, and then checked out at 12pm.
Back along 680 I walked, hating the weight I was carrying, having to switch sides carrying the duffle bag continually. At the Water Park, I rested a while and sent up the drone. I made a video or two and then walked back north again, discovering that the park there connected with Stoneridge Drive, something very helpful to know for future walks (as I could bring my luggage instead of using the gravel path).
I got a ride south and we drove to San Jose, parking at the Old Spaghetti Factory. There were two hours to kill before call time so I wandered around downtown a bit, taking photos of interesting places. Being hungry I looked for a place to eat. The only cheap option was Jack in the Box, so I stopped there. Their prices were not ideal, but two tacos for $2 did the trip. I picked up a beer at a local liquor store. Oddly, Google maps does not seem to list them very noticeably.
Then it was back to the venue. We had to stay downstairs due to a private party upstairs so no real green room for us. (Green Rooms were just a huge issue this Christmas season.) The downstairs performance area was large, but also loud due to the people in the restaurant and bar. Hearing cues was a nightmare.
The show did go rather well, with a wonderful audience, who hopefully could hear the dialogue okay. I was loud as I could be. Afterwards, we packed up and took photos. I got a ride from Tenaya as she was offering a guest room in San Jose for the night. I would be save a fair amount of money this way.
One unfortunate thing was I had a massive headache. Perhaps from the fall the day before, or dehydration, or too many IPAs (though I never even drank my recent purchase). But it was pounding. That and my sore back forced me to take some pain pills (something I try to avoid). They only helped a little. I soon had to say goodnight to avoid the pain.
