This was a free day. I slept it some and then headed out for a walk in the late afternoon, when it was getting dark. My first quest was heading over to Santa Rita Road. Then took a right and headed to the Sports Park. It was dark then, though I was only there a short while. After that, it was past my old home and onward to Santa Rita again. At Safeway, I picked up a beer and then walked more.
At Main Street, I opted to head to Stanley and then back to the McDonald’s once again for their $5 chicken sandwich meal. I walked up to the Pleasanton Hills to see some streets where a friend used to live. The houses there were quite nice, yet eventually turned into cheaper apartments. From there, it was back to downtown and then back to the hotel.
There wasn’t much time as a friend was doing karaoke and I was joining her. I took Uber over to save time and met up. The bar was fairly lively, but not many were singing. This meant I could sing A LOT. I sang about eight songs in total, working through most of my favorites.
At 2am, I said goodbye and starting walked back to the hotel. It was now raining and I had left my umbrella and cap at the hotel, but I could manage a few miles. My phone was getting low on power, which wasn’t good; however, I knew the way. It was just so cold and windy!
Google Maps did have me taking the creek under the freeway overpass. That was a little odd, and also quite thrilling. The creek was raging pretty hard from all the rain. Then I hopped a chain link fence and walked back to the hotel. It was almost 4am when I finally slept.
