Travel Diary

Ah, another lie-in day. This time until 10am. I got up and packed. With some spare time, I recorded some videos and finished any leftover wine or food. There was still one burger left from In and Out, but it wasn’t particularly tasty anymore. I checked out at noon and started walking.

My first mission was to head over to the path that runs alongside the 680 freeway. I walked down that for a few miles and finally reached the old waterpark. I spent a little bit of time there, and then headed over to the Arroyo Creek path and went down to the Pleasanton sports park. It was fairly empty there, although it was a pretty nice day, just a little cold. I walked up through the park and then back onto the road and finally on over to the park-and-ride at Stoneridge.

My ride came and we headed to Hayward, California. Being a weekend there was hardly any traffic. Soon we were up in the Hayward Hills at a nice golf club that I've never been to before. It offered a fantastic view of the sunset, so I took some photos. Once again, we had a difficult situation with the green room, and ended up being mainly in the women's bathroom, so that was unique. The venue space for performing was a little awkward as there were two sides for the audience, but a huge dance floor in the middle to separate it. We didn't have any mikes, so this complicated the matter. The show went okay with about 40% of people not really being into it, and staying in the bar after a while. That was fine, but the noise from the bar certainly did interfere with the people that did wan to see the show, but having difficulty hearing the dialogue. It's just something that clients need to be advised of in advance. Quite a few people to dress up so they did know that it was a 1920s theme.

After the show I got a ride from Tenaya as I would be staying at her family's home for the night. We drove over to San Jose, and she let me stay in the guest room which was really nice and toasty warm, always a treat. I would have to be up at 4am for my flight.
