Ah, rest and relaxation. No 5am wakeup or 1.5 hours of sleep. I slept in as long as possible. Then it was time to meet my friend Ken downtown for beers. I headed out on foot, sore feet and all, and walked towards Main Street. My timing was bad and I knew I wouldn’t make it in time without running, but that wasn’t an option since I was too sore. I called Ken and got picked up on Stoneridge Drive. We then headed to a beer and ccotch pub off Main Street. Can’t remember the name, but a fun place.

Since the weather was great, we grabbed seats outside where we could watch football and drink beer. I only drank Guinness as I was trying to cut back on the heavy IPAs. It was great catching up for a few hours. Afterwards Ken offered a lift back to my hotel, but I opted to walk around downtown for a while.

I headed to the ice cream place because...ice cream. They now had eight flavors to choose from. Ugh. So much harder when difficult decisions have to be made. I went with pomegranate and vanilla (stacked), which were both great. Then I walked downtown more and down to the creek. After getting a whiff of nature, it was back to Main Street and past Amador High School Theatre, where I had acted in perhaps two hundred performances over the years. So many memories there.

Then it was over to Safeway. I had forgotten to buy my banana the first night, but now I had it in my cart and then paid for. I got a few other things and walked past my old home on Canary Drive. Then to the Sports Park, although the light was fading. It was fun to see the place where I did hundreds of laps in 15 years. I finally headed to Hopyard and walked towards the hotel. My feet were still quite sore and not fond of so much walking, but there was no way I was taking Uber and missing out on my old town.

Back at the hotel, it was time for another shower. I was just so tired then. I had planned to meet a friend for karaoke, but with zero energy, that wasn’t possible. I needed to just relax and take it easy. I slept well that night. Oh, and I also realized that while I had paid for my banana this time, I also forgot to put it in my bag. The universe just didn’t want me to have a banana that weekend.
