Another day similar to Saturday. Though there was football to watch for part of it. I really liked the option to have Redzone on devices such as laptops and tvs and tablets. It was also nice that games started at 1pm. But the venue wanted us there at 3:30pm, so we had to leave early and drive to the Cape Cabaret.
We were given a choice of performance rooms so we took the smaller one, where the crowd would fill it up (in the larger room, we would only be at 50%). Plus, the larger room would have been harder for sound. For this performance, we set the stage with many items, including a family portrait, candles, and other items to give it a Victorian home feeling.
Back in the green room, we prepared once again and ordered food for our meal. I selected the sea bass, which was very good. I’ll have to order that again in the future. Since there was a lot of time before the show, I put on the 49er football game so actors could watch that as we got ready. Then showtime once again.
Some improv was required in this show. Again, the script was brand new for some actors, and it can often be challenging to get it all down when that’s the case. But that’s all well and good with me as improv can be a fun and exciting way to keep things fresh, and everyone on their toes. In the end, it all went just fine. I was really happy with how both shows turned out. And it was an honor to have one of my scripts performed once again.
Afterwards, it was more photos and greeting the crowd. Then we cleaned up the props and drove back home. Another Fort Myers performance in the books. Well, Cape Coral to be precise. But close enough.
Back home, we drank and chatted for a while. Then time to sleep.
