It would be another relaxing day—that is to say no show in the evening. For this trip, the vacation days would be in the first part, then the performance days at the end. A change from the usual routine.
Around 11am we headed over to the Nevermind Bar and Grille. They were on their final days as the place would be closing at the end of the year. For me, it wasn’t a huge thing, but my friend had worked there for many years, so the ending was significant to her.
Inside, we found some chairs at the bar and I got a light beer. No need to go heavy this early in the day. We ordered food as well. My selection was a pork grilled cheese sandwich, which was fine but very filling. The bartender Judy asked if I didn’t like it, probably since I only finished half of it. I said it was fine. I just don’t have a large stomach so something that rich and heavy filled me up fast. I took the rest home, where someone else finished it off.
Our next stop was No. 3. This is a place that is nearby and has some tasty and strong beers. One thing I enjoy is that they served 4 oz. Drinks so one can try different flavors without committing to a full pint-sized beer. Plus, some are very strong.
But the second nicety is that the place is quiet. It was vastly different from the previous place. I fully enjoyed the calmness of the atmosphere. Only a couple of other customers were in there too. Just a great place to chill out and not be overwhelmed with noise.
After that, we headed over to a nice place by the water in south Cape Coral. It was called Rumrunners and I believe it’s a franchise out there. The weather was cool, but I was dressed for it, so we sat outside and got some hot drinks—something with mocha and booze, I think. I forget the name.
The place is nice, but of course it’s also an overpriced chain so it’s likely not a place anyone needs to visit. That said, it was still a nice time.
Our final stop was a bar called McGregor’s. This in a strip mall location, though a really great place for drinks. Certainly, the day wasn’t warm, but sitting at a covered bar outside was relaxing. I had a small Guinness (this was our fourth stop after all) and enjoyed the surroundings.
Then it was time to head back to the house. Almost. We did have to pick up my friend’s daughter and a couple of other kids. Once that was completed, we picked up John and returned to the house. Hard to believe how fast the day had flown by.
Then it was the Raiders vs. Chargers game. Having Amazon Prime, we were able to watch the slaughter of the Chargers. A most exciting game indeed.
Another actor was flying out from California. However, his flight was delayed so he wouldn't arrive until well past midnight. Serena asked if he could Uber over to the house and he agreed. For the rest of us, we watched some streaming shows. When Tony arrived, it was past 1am. Everyone went to bed after that. I stayed awake a while longer. And finally, I succumbed to Morpheus as well.
