"You're lucky." That's what someone had said before I left. I didn't agree. Okay, I suppose it is partially true, but I countered that my being able to go was more about previous choices. I chose to save over the years, to not splurge as much as others, to refrain for crazy spending. If I had the dough to go, it was not due to luck alone. Alright fine, maybe a little luck. At any rate, a trip back to the land of beaches and Mai Tais was in order. I hadn't been in about seven years. And now that I was working full time, getting over there was even more difficult. I actually had to take an unpaid day to make it work. Ghastly, I know. But I felt I could survive one day less of income. The things I do for fun. It's really amazing how easy the internet has made travel planning these days. I simply visited some web sites, obsessed about the changing prices for many weeks, and finally pulled the switch. Next thing I knew I was counting down the days.
