The Iliad
by Homer
Published in 850 (I finished it on December 13, 2005)
It's a masterpiece alright, but does end a little abruptly. I found it much easier to follow than I had anticipated. If you really want to learn about Hector, Achilles, Paris, Agamemnon, and the others, this book is for you. Battles are somewhat gory at times, yet the war is full of honor, respect, and revenge. It's difficult to root for either side, yet it somberly demonstrates how futile war can be.

So many books … (you know the rest)
