My hotel was only for one day, so I packed up in the morning and checked out. I walked by St. James park and saw a squirrel devouring a nut. It made for a great close-up shot. Then I visited the horse guards area and checked into my hotel just off Trafalgar Square. After that, I went to the Churchill War Rooms, which I’d always missed in previous years. That tour was pricey but it needed to be done at least once. There, I witnessed so much about the underground bunker and control center during WWII.

The tour also included a very detailed history of Winston Churchill. It was way too much to take in that day; however, I saw what I could and journeyed on.

My evening show would be a musical in Hammerstein, which was a decent Tube ride away. I headed out there and found a neat little theatre with a ticket waiting for me. Booking the theatre tickets in advance and having them ready at will-call is something I highly recommend.

The show itself was NOT what I expected. I should have researched it more, but all of the sudden I was watching a cast of children throw pies at each other. Granted, they were talented children and did fine for what the show entailed; it just was not a show for me. I did stay for the second half though, which was almost not the case. I just did not care for the musical.

    Always research your shows first.
